Computer has become a fast-growing areas in recent years due to the increase in crime. These crimes are in fact criminal activities committed through computer systems and the Internet.
The widespread use of personal computers in businesses and homes have greatly facilitated the fraud and cybercrime. There are more and more difficulties encountered by the experts of computer forensics when handling computers for legal purposes.
See some of the major challenges faced by these experts:
- It is a difficult but important task for analysts to retrieve data from computers while preserving the integrity of evidence. The experts need knowledge, expertise and experience to recover data from hard disks whose contents had been completely deleted.
- It is the responsibility of the security professionals to store and handle all data retrieved
- The experts should be well equipped with all sorts of skills to find important information in a large volume of data. They follow the large amounts of email and instant messaging and to evaluate their content in search of evidence
