Alexa rating is a very practical and useful to assess the volume of traffic far more a site gets. The premise is very simple. Alexa dot com tries to measure the traffic that all sites get in touch with each other. For example, currently they are ranked Google as number one, followed by Yahoo, Facebook and YouTube. But this is not just the ranking of the best sites to advise on millions too. So every single online site is measured by Alexa, and classified according to the total traffic. The biggest number I’ve ever seen is 22,000,000.
It seems to be very inaccurate for sites of about 5,000,000. For example, I put a lot of new online sites, and seen their Alexa rating ranging from 8,000,000 to 22,000,000. Thus, the numbers in this range are probably meaningless.
They argue that it is more accurate for the 100,000 first sites online. After that, while the accuracy decreases, but it’s still a gauge handy. For example, there is a big difference between a website that displays a 250,000 Alexa rating and one that shows 6,000,000!
By installing a tool such as the status of research on your browser, you can instantly see the Alexa ratings (and other information very cool) on every site you ever visit. This gives you “x-ray vision” in the Internet, and can help you avoid making mistakes. For example, I recently saw a site listing how I can get tons of traffic to my site for $ 97 per month. The top selling approximately 4,500,000 ranked on Alexa. I immediately knew it was a scam. Anything more than one million receives very little. link“>(more…)
